I became a doula a few years after ther birth of my son, as i knew there must be a better way of having babies (i had epidural and vaccum delivery).
After my training i became pregnant with #2, i still managed to attend a birth at Mercy Hospital when i was 31weeks pregnant, and during this birth i could see where support and information was lacking in hospitals.
My second child was born at home, with lots of support from my husband, doula and midwives, it made such a differance having extra support as well as more knowledge.
My aim is to give women and thier partners an empowering birth experiance either a hospital, home or even a c-section.
Knowledge is power.

Im a 28 yr old mum to 3 beautiful children, all of which were born via Caesarean Section. It was with these deliveries that I realised my body had been deprived of the experience Mother Nature had intended it to do. I believe that women should have informed choices and the support they require regardless of where they decide to give birth, whether it be Homebirth, Hospital Birth, Birth Centre, Vaginal or Caesarean Birth.
As your Doula, I am there for you. I am there to listen to your thoughts or worries, to offer support and advice where I can. I believe that the presence of a dedicated Doula can enhance a woman's birth experience, by creating an environment which is secure and nurturing. I want to be able to help you create a fulfilling birth experience that is memorable and joyous. Ensuring that both parents are fully informed during any decision making process, as well as encouraging the birthing mother to have trust in herself and in her body.

BIRTHRITES DOULA OF THE YEAR 2007
My journey to become a doula began after the birth of my second child. Having the care of a beautiful independent midwife throughout my pregnancy, birth and early post-natal period, left me feeling completely supported, empowered and relaxed. Having someone I got to know during my pregnancy, who was at the birth and who I didn’t have to explain anything to contributed to such a great experience. It is my wish that all women feel so supported.
I believe that women are strong and I am completely in awe of the birthing process. I believe that women know how to birth their babies – but need to be in an environment which allows them to do so. I believe that good preparation goes a long way towards a beautiful birthing experience, wherever a woman chooses to birth – home, birth centre or hospital.
Dads are a special part of birth support – after all, who knows the birthing mother better than her partner? I believe that having a doula as part of the birth support team should enhance the Dad’s experience – giving him the confidence to support his partner and to provide reassurance when he needs it.
I have experience in births at home, birth centre, hospital, water birth, caesarean birth (epidural and general anaesthetic), VBAC, twin birth and Hypnobirthing® and would love to chat with you about supporting you through such a special time in your life.

Every woman is unique, so too is my role at every birth I support. For some women my role will be one of loving support and comfort, for another it will be guidance and assisting her to empower herself, for another woman it will be to provide information. Most women like to have a combination of different things from me as their doula.
I am a mum to two gorgeous children – Noel Zizou and Luna Aiyana. During my first pregnancy I truly discovered my interest in pregnancy, birth and parenting; I found everything so fascinating. The birth of my son Zizou in 2007 was a life changing experience. After my beautiful and calm birth experience I realised I was on the right path to find the “something” missing in my life; the “work” that I could truly love with all my heart:
I often met mothers who didn’t speak about their birthing experiences as positively as I did. This made me realise that this was something I could help with. I love supporting and empowering women. I want to show them how calm giving birth can be by using relaxation techniques during labour, so too they can achieve a wonderful birth experience. I believe this is so important, especially in these times of frequent intervention and medical interference.
My initial interest has grown into a deep passion. I have now completed my training as a Doula and am a Certified Hypnobirthing practitioner. I truly believe that every woman and every baby deserves a positive and empowering birth experience.
I believe it is a privilege to be invited to share this very personal time with couples. I value the role I play in being a part of this special time on the way to parenthood.
I would love to support you on the way towards your Dreambirth.

A couple of lights went off when i heard the saying "labor isnt something that happens to you, it's something that you do"
I very much see my role as a doula part of that doing. Helping the mum and dad see what their choices are and support them through their joyful birth of their awaiting child.

I am a mother of 4 beautiful girls and have had 4 beautiful very different natural births. I am a qualified reflexologist and have worked with couples to boost their fertility and felt that becoming a doula was just the natural progression in my journey.
I am compassionate, caring, non judgemental and understanding. I am a very open and honest person. I feel that this is very important working as a doula, because the couple are allowing you to be a part of their personal experience and they are having to be open with you.
I work with couples to help them project the birth outcomes they desire encompassing the wholeness of a positive birth.
I also offer reflexology as part of my doula packages. I know and have seen reflexology work to help women with mand different pregnancy issues.

Giving birth and becoming a mother in 2005 changed my life's focus completely. We experienced the true value of professional birth support (doula) with the birth of my first child - to which my partner and I are deeply grateful. We truly believe it made all the difference to our beautiful birthing experience. I began to question why it was every women didn't experience what was possible around birth, when every woman deserved too.
For the past 10 years I have worked as a Naturopath, Nutritionist and Herbalist (and still do). I am a fully trained and qualified Childbirth Educator and Doula and aim to provide empowering and inspiring prenatal workshops and courses for women/couples. I find this *work* - from preconception, through pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period very fulfilling and I just couldn't imagine myself doing anything else!
I am blessed with two beautiful children - my greatest teachers!
My thoughts on birth...
Birth is what transforms woman to mother, a couple to a family and a child to a sibling. It holds great power to shape the entire mothering experience for women and I believe it needs time, energy, respect, guidance, love, nurturing and trust.
I truly believe women deserve to birth with a deep sense of satisfaction and I endeavour to provide the respect and support we all deserve at this time in our lives. The journey is just as exciting as the destination!
I continue to challenge the existing culture that promotes birth as a fearful and stressful experience. I also believe when necessary, intervention during labour and childbirth may be needed. I aim to facilitate the empowerment of pregnant couples to take control of their birthing experience.
The birth reform movement is gaining momentum worldwide and the fuel lies in informing and empowering women and their partners to fight for their birthing rights.
I advocate better maternity services to all birthing women of Australia. I believe if women unite their minds and efforts to share their skills and resources, changes in the health care system will benefit all generations.
Every birth is as unique as every woman.
Every birth is magical, uplifting and powerful.

I am a mother of 2, a wife and a woman! (Yes....you can be all three!)
The birth of a baby also brings about the birth of a mother. I do not believe there is a wrong or right way to birth a baby, rather the question should be what is the most loving way for a baby to be born? Birth occurs best when the emotional needs of mother and father are met alongside the medical needs of mother and baby. If a natural birth without medical interventions is wished for, I believe in most cases it is attainable. Occasionally, the cascading impacts of unnecessary medical interventions can cause stress on both parents and can leave a mother feeling unfulfilled with her birthing experience. I do understand that there is often a desire or need to seek medical interventions and I support a mother’s decision by providing her with unbiased information and continual assistance. Doulas support women to trust their own bodies through the emotional, spiritual and physical challenges birth brings. As a doula I believe that breathing and positioning techniques as well as the use of other natural comfort measures can lead to a gratifying birth. Creating a loving and caring environment for every mother and baby serves as the foundational inspiration for Birth with Hope Doula Services.

I am a registered nurse and am currently doing my postgraduate studies in midwifery. I have my first baby, naturally and drug free in december 2008 with the support of my partner, mother (who is also a nurse) and older sister. I also had the most fantastic midwife. As a nursing student I assisted in the births of babies, both natural and cesarean and I believe that very nurturing support and guidance during this important time is paramount to beginning your journey as new parents.

I am the mother of 2 beautiful children, a son and a daughter, and it was through their births that I came to realise how transformative the process of birth really is. I realised that it really does matter how women give birth to their babies, as the experience remains with them for the rest of their life, and shapes who they are. This realisation lead me to become a doula, in order to serve and support women as they journey into motherhood.
I am deeply passionate about childbirth and am constantly in awe of the amazing way women’s bodies work. I believe birth is a normal, natural part of life and that women have an instinctual knowledge of how to birth their babies. As a doula, I consider it a great honour to be invited into a couple’s birth space and hold this privilege close to my heart as I work to encourage an empowered, positive birth experience for mum, dad and baby.

I am a very proud mother of a girl and two boys. Each birth a unique event. I have always had an interest in birth as a process and while completing my degree I studied reproductive physiology, embryology and anatomy. Since the birth of my own children I am now appreciateive of birth also as an experience.
I believe that the birth of your child from your body should be your experience.
As a doula my aim is to create a supportive, strong, comfortable atmosphere during your birth and encourage confidence in your own ability. In assisting you to become aware of all your options, both prior to and during your birth, you and your partner can maintain control and make the choices that you feel most comfortable with. I believe in the importance of being an emotional and/or physical comfort for both parents and respecting that this is a special time for you both.
I have been invited to support women in private and public hospitals, and birth centre settings and have experience in helping women labour and birth using entirely natural methods and medical pain management techniques. I have also had experience in supporting successful VBAC births.
Labour and birth are a privilege that not everyone is able to experience – when you do it will be something to carry with you for the rest of your life, a story that you will tell and retell. By providing personal, consistent, educated care it is my intention that this experience is optimal for you, your partner and your baby.
